DESCRIPTION:
"A Gripping Short Story" according to Stephen England. Having read the first short story from Ross Elder shortly before its release, I really enjoyed this--the third release of The Fireman Saga. Elder's writing just continues to get better, and he brings back his unlikely vigilante for another action-packed episode. This time .the Fireman has help, in the form of a pair of retired military types who are determined to give him the training he needs to succeed. And after a Marine is gunned down by street thugs, they're offering more than training. The action is the high poi. Steven Hildreth, Jr. said Outstanding, thrill a minute!. In a previous review, I said that Ross Elder had potential as a writer. It seems that I am given to understatement. Unhinged is a perfect, compact package of action. We pick up where we left off with Jack "The Fireman," a vigilante with no previous tactical background. We get to see him receive training and hone his tactical skills. He still is not perfect but he has improved. We also see a bit of action with his flame, reporter Helen James.Best of all, we get to see The Fireman kick tail and take names. Elder's pros. A quick, bad-ass read Nate Granzow I'm a fan of action and thriller books, but most of the well-known authors in the genre are verbose and a littletame. Ross Elder wowed me with his first novel, The Fireman, because he turned that notion on its head. His prose is tight, his action blood-pumpingly realistic, and his sharp wit and humor prevalent throughout his writing. That said, this short story blew his first book out of the freakin' water. What his first work lacked in polish, this one had in spades. Clever, cleanly edited, quick-to-read, and downrig
Jack pursues the remnants of a drug gang following the death of their leader. The second short story, following Book One, of the Fireman Saga series. In the aftermath of the drug dealer's demise, chaos reigns on the streets as lower level dealers vie for the now vacant role of supreme leader. In Unhinged, Jack embraces his severing of the tether between the law and real justice. With the help of a retired Marine, Jack further improves his talents and finds new ways to ply his trade.
