The title of the book really caught my attention because I think there are so many stories to be told and passed on from generation to generation that just aren't being told (or remembered by this generation). It made me realize that I should have taken greater interest in listening to stories my grandparents (that are no longer living) told when they would reminisce . "Start when you have time to finish it!" according to Catherine Jaime. I started Whispered Secrets last night when I was looking for a book to read in the tub. It almost cost me a good night's sleep - since I wanted to stay up and finish it. I finally managed to put it down at about the half way point - and then got up this morning and completed it!Shelly weaves a fun and interesting story about the facts and fiction of Montavello. This is a historical fact filled story with the author transporting herself to Civil War times whenever she wanted to make a point about the present circumstances.interesting, sometimes hysterically funny.
