No such thing My wife told me about this book and that it contained information on the OCCK back in the late 70's. Having lived in the area at that time I was intrigued to read it.I enjoyed the book from the start because of the locations the author mentioned. I new where the big house where Syd moved back into, and the church that was close by.Reading the episodes where the children were being kept and abused were imaginable, since the case ha. "A dark mystery based on a true happening" according to SJS. "No Such Thing" is a mystety that is loosely based on the true disappearance and murder of a young boy in a safe suburban Michigan neighborhood. You do not know this as you are reading the novel, it is a story of what could have happened. It is a dark story and there are times you know what is coming and you just want to scream and say don't go there!! But alas, it wouldn't be a story if the characters took the safe way out. I rea. Suspenseful! I was pulled in from page one. This book is creepy and suspenseful. I actually had to stop and take a break a couple of times while reading this. The book has its dark moments but it is based on true events that were dark. I felt like the book was engaging and because of the subject it is hard to say it is enjoyable but it was! I recommend this book especially if you like mysteries or true crime.
