A Decent Plot that, with Some Effort, Could be a Good, Quick Read, but Beware of Profanities Bill Anderson This short story is not a satisfying read at all. This is going to be one of my briefer reviews, as I explain some of the cause of my angst:Short stories can be terrific, if the writer takes the time to paint a picture in a manner that lends credibility and empathy to the characters. Too often, the writer tells us, instead of showing us, what is happening and what each person is thinking. That, however, is only the tip of the iceberg regarding why I didn't enjoy this.The short story includes a prologue, which often doesn't even work with a novel, let alone a 31 page short story. More to the point, the prologue actuall. Felicia M said Too short. This could have been an awesome book. However it was written as a short story and felt way too rushed. As I was starting to get into it, it ended. If the author were to take this story and expand on it and make the ending better, it would definitely improve it.. Katharine Mire said One Star.
