I recently finished reading this lovely book and gleaned some great info. I am just now completing my first year as a school psychologist in a high school, and it was a wild ride! However, I really learned a lot from Dr. Branstetter, especially in the area of time management, organization, great ideas for group counseling, and taking care of ME in the midst of the craziness - can't wait to make some improvements for next year. I promptly suggested this book to the other school psychologist at my school (also in her first year), and an intern working in the district. This is an excellent supplement to all of the wonderful book-knowledge from . Excellent for experienced school psychologists! DD This book is a great resource for experienced school psychologists as well. I appreciate the author's suggestions on how to tackle some of the common, yet problematic, issues that school psychologists face in their daily practice. The practical tips and the forms were also a big hit. I especially like the progress monitoring form, the caseload management form, the threat/suicide assessment and the counseling consent forms. I also agree that the tips on how to explain testing results and the disability categories in a parent-friendly way are great!
