K. Savitsky said This book made our trip a success!. This book is nice and short but is packed with practical, useful information. I appreciated the fact that it read like it was written by a real person, with opinions and thoughts -- unlike, say, those sterile, anonymous travel magazines that make every restaurant and hotel sound equally good. I read the book nearly cover to cover before our trip to TCI and it made a giant difference. For example, without this book we would have paid for an expensive chartered snorkel excursion -- which I'm sure would have been. B. S. Terry said Great to have before and during your trip. When I first went to the Turks and Caicos Islands, I found it difficult to find travel information in print. Sometimes there would be a chapter in a book devoted to the Bahamas; usually, there was never a map.I bought this book to use while planning our second trip. I checked first for information that I had already discovered myself, to see how my opinion differed from the author. I believe it to be very accurate and the author's opinions to cover both the pros and cons of the subjects. And the maps are defin. Pass I would have liked more history of the island and local tips. It was mildly useful, but I would not get it in hindsight. If I were you I would use the trip adviser website for insider info and the low down on where to go. I was hoping this would be a one stop hand help stop for what to do and eat- but it just isn't very useful in that regard.
