DESCRIPTION:
I loved this book. Margaret I loved reading Backwards to Oregon. Such a moving story. Reading about what women did back in the 1800's to live the life they wanted, is heartbreaking. Beautifully written.. "Loved it" according to steph. Read all of Jae books and you will not be disappointed. Even though I love to read about western times , this story just makes your heart warm all over. On to book 2 and the short stories next.. "I really enjoyed the character development and the progress of the plot" according to Caroline. Could not put this book down. I really enjoyed the character development and the progress of the plot. I'm also a bit of an Oregon trail geek so that might have helped too
The author describes places with such accuracy and her characters with such detail that her writing comes alive. Readers will feel transported to the streets of Independence, Missouri and along the Oregon Trail as Luke and Nora's wagon team travels the perilous roads. - Portland Book Review
“Luke” Hamilton has always been sure that she’d never marry. She accepted that she would spend her life alone when she chose to live her life disguised as a man. She no longer hopes for a man who will sweep her off her feet and take her away to begin a new, respectable life. After working in a brothel for three years, Nora Macauley has lost all illusions about love. But now they find themselves married and on the way to Oregon in a covered wagon, with two thousand miles ahead of them.
